Biographical Information

Mutsumi Kimura played for Japan in the 2025 Women's Baseball Asian Cup. She started at first base in their opener against Sri Lanka and hit cleanup. Her first time up, she singled off Himasha Dilrukshi Karunarathna Weerasinghe Dewayalage to drive in Yuria Hatanaka; she went 4-for-6 with 3 runs, 2 doubles and 6 RBI in the rout. She hit .471/.565/.765 for the event and drove in 12 runs in 7 games (including one in the title game win) plus scored six. She went 3-for-3 in steals and handled 29 chances error-free. She was second in RBI (3 behind Hyeon-ah Kim) but did not make the All-Star team as Panpan Wang was picked at first base. Japan advanced to the 2026-2027 Women's Baseball World Cup.
