Biographical Information[edit]

Ming-Jen Kuo played in the CPBL and the TML for 6 years.

Kuo played for Taiwan in the 1994 Little League World Series. Seven years later, he was a first-round draft pick of the Taichung Agan; he hit .273/.429/.273 for the club that year and .255/.303/.346 in 2002. When the Taiwan Major League folded, Kuo was out of work until 2005. That year, he was signed by the Macoto Cobras and batted .254/.308/.343. In 2006, he hit .275/.342/.321. In the 2007 CPBL, he produced at a .294/.360/.352 clip for the Cobras. During 2008, he hit .313/.404/.447 for the club, now renamed the dMedia T-Rex. When the T-Rex folded due to a gambling scandal, Kuo was left without a club for 2009.

The Taitung native joined the Taiwan national team for the 2009 World Port Tournament, hitting .240/.387/.400 but fielding only .879 at shortstop. He tied for 6th in the event with 5 walks and just missed the top 10 in both slugging and OBP. Kuo remained with Taiwan for the 2009 Asian Championship. He blasted a solo home run against Yusuke Nomura of Japan and went 1-for-4 with a triple against Wanjun Zhang of China. He then represented Taiwan in the 2009 Baseball World Cup, and he hit .318/.388/.318 with 3 RBI. He also played for Taiwan in the 2013 East Asian Games and 2013 World Port Tournament. In the latter event, he hit .286/.375/.286, finishing 7th in OBP (between Shurendell Mujica and future big leaguer José Miguel Fernandez), leading in both HBP (3) and sacrifice hits (3) and handling 26 chances error-free. He tied Erisbel Arruebarruena for second in assists (17, 2 behind Shurendell Mujica).

Overall, Kuo hit .281/.349/.363 with 431 hits and 69 doubles in 6 seasons in the CPBL and TML.
