Biographical Information[edit]

IF/OF Mike Dupree led the 1973 Northwest League with 102 hits and a .351 average. By 1975, he was leading the Texas League in assists from the outfield (24), double plays by an outfielder (4), and being converted to pitching.

He got his only shot at the majors with the San Diego Padres in 1976. He pitched 12 times in relief, with no decisions and an ERA of 9.19 in 15 2/3 innings. He got a hit in his only at-bat and scored a run. Apart from his stint with the Padres, he spent all of 1976 to 1979 with the AAA Hawaii Islanders of the Pacific Coast League as a two-way player.

In 1980, he played as an outfielder for the Hiroshima Carp of Nippon Pro Baseball, batting .266 in 127 games, with 10 homers and 40 RBIs. He did not see any time on the mound in Japan.
