Biographical Information[edit]
Mateo Correa has been on the Peruvian national team.
He was 0-1 with a 12.25 ERA in the 2023 U18 South American Championship, losing to Venezuela. [1] At the 2025 Bolivarian Games, he made one appearance. He was their top hurler in their opening 11-0 loss to Colombia. Replacing Jorge Sivirichi with a 10-0 deficit in the 4th, he retired Jesús Marriaga, allowed a Guillermo Quintana single then got Fabián Pertuz and Brayan Buelvas (K) to end the inning, the first inning that game Colombia did not score. In the 5th, MVP Tito Polo led off with a homer but Correa settled down by getting Dayan Frías and Carlos Arroyo. Daniel Vellojin singled but Correa got former major leaguer Dilson Herrera on a fly. The game ended due to the mercy rule. Peru did win up taking the Silver Medal, their best finish to that point in baseball in a Bolivarian Games. [2]
