Biographical Information

Masaki Iwata has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Iwata was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the first round of the development phase in the 2020 NPB draft; the scout was Shuta Tanaka. He stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first four seasons, and he was released in 2024 despite having gone a cumulative 8-6, 3.08 on the farm. The Yokohama BayStars signed him, and he debuted against the Chiba Lotte Marines on June 20. Iwata only completed one inning in 3 games in the 2025 season.
