- Born July 28, 1942 in Portsmouth, VA USA
Biographical Information[edit]
Marty Brennaman has been a broadcaster for the Cincinnati Reds since 1974 and spent most of that time teamed with Joe Nuxhall in the booth. "And this one belongs to the Reds" is his signature call after a Cincinnati victory. He has announced that he will retire following the 2019 season, his 46th.
In September of 2025, he was honored with a sculpture near the main entrance of Great American Ballpark, joining other Reds legends. He was the ninth person so honored, and the first non-player, although his long-time broadcasting partner Nuxhall was one of these, and had also largely received the honor for his work in the booth. He is depicted seated behind the microphone with his scorebook nearby and his signature winning call “This one belongs to the Reds!” emblazoned on the wall above.
His son Thom Brennaman is also a broadcaster, with the FOX network and the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 2007, Thom joined him in broadcasting Reds games.
