Biographical Information[edit]

Marlan Coughtry played for four major league teams during two seasons in the majors.

He was with the Minneapolis Millers in 1959 and 1960 (Carl Yastrzemski was there in 1960).

John Updike's essay in the New Yorker in 1960 about Ted Williams' last game ("Hub Fans Bid Kid Adieu") mentions Coughtry.

In 1961, between his two major league seasons, he played for the Seattle Rainiers.
