Biograohical Information[edit]
Madison Boer pitched in the Minnesota Twins system from 2011 to 2015, peaking at Double-A, then spent some time in independent ball.
He was taken by the Twins in the 2nd round of the 2011 amateur draft, one pick after catcher Andrew Susac, and was signed by scout Trevor Brown. Between two clubs his first campaign, he had 11 saves and 43 strikeouts in 25 1/3 innings, earning a spot on the Appalachian League Post-Season All-Star team. He was second in the Appy League in saves with 9, behind Jared West's 10. Then he pivoted to the starting rotation for 2012, going 9-12 between two clubs that year and leading the Florida State League in runs allowed (88) and home runs allowed (15). He tied Shawn Teufel for the league lead in earned runs allowed (79) and multiple pitchers for the lead in losses (10). He spent the majority of the rest of his career in the bullpen. On July 16, 2015, the Twins released him; he then latched on with the independent Lancaster Barnstormers to finish the campaign. He spent one more year in indy ball to wrap up his career.
Overall, Boer went 27-30 in 6 pro seasons.
