Biographical Information[edit]

Lorenzo Morresi has played in Italy and for the Italian national team. His father Valter Morresi played in Italy as well. [1]

He was 0 for 15 with a walk and a RBI for Italy in the 2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup, playing 5 of their 8 games at catcher. [2] During the 2018 European Junior Championship, he was 0 for 12 with a run. He was 5th with 29 putouts. [3] Debuting in Italy's Serie A1 in 2020, he hit .327/.383/.400 for his hometown Macerata team.

Morresi improved to .406/.481/.453 for ASD San Marino in 2021, finishing 10th in average. [4] He hit .341/.454/.568 as a freshman at New Mexico Junior College. [5] He was 0 for 3 for Italy in the 2022 Haarlem Baseball Week. [6] He remained with San Marino in 2022, hitting .328/.419/.443 that summer. The team won the 2022 Italian Series.

As a sophomore, he produced at a .363/.428/.661 clip. [7] He returned to Macerata in the summer, posting a .350/.419/.588 line. He had 6 runs and 6 RBI in 5 games for Italy in the 2023 U-23 European Championship, batting .364/.563/.727. [8] Transferring to Texas-San Antonio for his junior season, he slipped to .212/.288/.327. With Italy for the 2024 Haarlem Baseball Week, he hit .250/.368/.313 but scored 7 times in 5 games, tying Stijn van der Meer and Kengo Yanagidate for second in runs, one behind Misho Nishikawa. [9] In the summer, he hit .294/.455/.382 in his limited time with Macerata.

His senior year, he hit .277/.317/.372. In Macerata that year, he was at .368/.463/.618 and would've been 10th in slugging had he qualified. [10] In the 2025 European Championship, he was a regular for Italy, splitting time between second and third; his batting line was .280/.379/.320 with 7 runs and 5 RBI in 7 games, handling 24 chances error-free. In the 6-5 title game loss to the Netherlands, he had a two-run single off MLB vet Shairon Martis and came around to score. He tied for 8th in the Euros that year in runs and tied Vojtěch Menšík for 5th in assists (16). [11]
