Biographical Information[edit]

Lin McKie was an East Boston native that played semi-pro ball locally before playing elsewhere in minor leagues from 1890 to 1892. McKie caught, pitched, and played all over the field, coming to prominence with the John P. Lovell Arms Co. team in Boston, playing for them from 1888 to 1891. In 1890 he played several games with Moncton in the New Brunswick League[1]. In 1891 he was with Clyde in the Rhode Island State League[2]. In 1892 he went to play with the New Orleans Pelicans in the Southern Association[3], where he was named team captain[4]. After the season he was accused of undermining his fellow players[5] and was released. He is not known to have played afterwards. He lived out his life back in East Boston, dying in 1924.
