Biographical Information[edit]
Leonard Washburne was a baseball writer for The Chicago Herald and The Inter Ocean. He was likely best known for his sarcastic humor and comments in his articles.
Washburne died in October of 1891 along with two other newspapermen after the train he was riding on crashed into an engine house.
