Biographical Information[edit]

Len Kasparovitch didn't make his pro debut until he was almost 27 years old. He was 20-8 with a 3.04 ERA for the Salt Lake City Bees in 1946, finishing one win behind Pioneer League leader Harry Perkowski. His 23 complete games tied Bob Chesnes for 4th, while he was 4th with 3 shutouts and 7th in strikeouts (145). He hit .222/.293/.278. He had a 14-12 record with a 3.03 ERA for the Victoria Athletics in 1947 and was briefly with the San Francisco Seals, a step from the majors. He went 18-14 with a 3.95 ERA with Victoria in 1948, placing 4th in the Western International League in victories. He tied for second with 22 complete games, was 3rd in IP (260) and was 10th in strikeouts (128). He signed with the Kintetsu Pearls in 1953. Kasparovitch was 6-10 with a 2.88 ERA in his first season in Japan, and he led the Pacific League with 5 wild pitches. He then had a 2.04 ERA in 25 appearances in 1954. He returned to Honolulu, where he was a police officer. He continued pitching, appearing for Hawaii in the Global World Series.
