Biographical Information[edit]
Larry Lee is a college coach and former college and minor league player.
After graduating from San Luis Obispo High School in 1979, Lee would begin his collegiate career at Santa Barbara City College in 1980. In 1981 he would transfer to Orange Coast College where he was a first team All-South Coast Conference and second team All-Southern California selection. For 1982 he would move on to Pepperdine University where he'd hit .304 in his two years with the Waves and as a junior was selected to first-team All-Southern California Baseball Association.
Following his senior season in 1983, Lee would play for the Utica Blue Sox in the Seattle Mariners organization. In 67 games, he batted .316 and collecting 74 hits. He led New York-Penn League second basemen in fielding at .965, but Rich Mattocks was named the All-Star 2B.
After his playing career, he accepted his first coaching position at Cuesta College for the 1984-1985 seasons before moving to California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo as an assistant for the 1986 season. In 1987 he would become the head coach of Cuesta College, a position that he held until 2002. During his tenure at Cuesta, he would win the Western State Conference 9 times. In July of 2002, Lee was named the head coach for Cal Poly SLO.
Larry Lee is the father of Brooks Lee.
