Biographical Information[edit]
Larry Calufetti played for the USA national baseball team and in the minor leagues.
Calufetti was drafted by Montreal Expos in the 57th round of the 1969 Amateur Draft, but he didn't sign and went to college. He represented the USA in the 1971 Pan American Games, winning a Silver Medal. [1] He was then drafted by the New York Metsin the 28th round of the 1973 Amateur Draft, and he hit .304/.383/.420 in 41 games in 1973 for the Batavia Trojans. He played 69 games with a .233/.292/.322 batting line for the Visalia Mets in 1974, and his batting line was .239/.309/.321 with the Jackson Mets in 1975. Calufetti crushed 4 homers with a .246/.352/.361 batting line in 1976 for the Wausau Mets, and he announced his retirement.
