Biographical Information[edit]
California native Lane Shultis pitched for the Oakland Oaks of the Pacific Coast League in 1921 before heading east to play for the Moline Plowboys of the Illinois-Indiana-Iowa League in 1923. Shultis was also on the Oakland roster in 1922 through the end of May, without pitching. The club wanted to option him to the Vancouver Beavers of the Western International League, but he refused and was eventually released. [1] [2] He hooked on with a team in Reno, NV, presumably a semi-pro team [3]
