Biographical Information[edit]
IF/OF Kris Goodman played in the minor leagues from 2015 to 2018 after four seasons at the University of Iowa. He was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the 32nd round of the 2015 amateur draft.
He spent two seasons in the Marlins organization, in 2015 when he hit .236 in 30 games for the GCL Marlins and in 2016 which he split between the Batavia Muckdogs and Greensboro Grasshoppers of the South Atlantic League. In 42 games between the two teams, he batted .215/.315/.238. After being released by Miami, he played for the Gary SouthShore RailCats of the American Association in 2017 and 2018, and for the Traverse City Beach Bums of the Frontier League in 2019. 2018 was by far his busiest season, as he appeared in 87 games that year and hit .246 with 5 homers and 33 RBIs. With Traverse City, he tried his luck as a pitcher, going 0-1, 7.94 in 8 games.
After his playing career, he returned to college at Minnesota State University, Mankato to earn a master's degree in sports psychology. He also served as a graduate assistant coach during that time. He was then hired by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2020 as an organizational mental performance coach. In 2026, he was promoted to the major league coaching staff as Major League Process and Development Coach.
