Biographical Information[edit]

Reliever Kevin Sheredy played in the minor leagues from 1996 to 2005, missing 1997. He spent one season at Triple-A, but never ascended to the major leagues.

He was taken in the 7th round of the 1996 amateur draft, one pick ahead of third baseman Casey Blake and one pick after catcher Chad Moeller. He moved up the ranks one level at a time—from Low-A in 1996, to Single-A in 1998, to High-A in 1999, to Double-A in 2000. In terms of ERA, 2001 was his best campaign, as he posted a 2.95 mark in 48 games for the Double-A New Haven Ravens, though his record was 0-7. He moved to Triple-A in 2002; in 35 appearances, he went 1-2 with a 4.75 mark. He moved to the independent ranks in 2003, posting respective ERAs of 8.18, 7.39 and 11.25 over his final three seasons.

Overall, Sheredy went 13-33 with a 5.22 ERA in 230 games (37 starts). In 418 2/3 innings, he allowed 446 hits and 243 walks (1.646 WHIP), while striking out 287 batters. In the Cardinals system, he was 12-26 with a 4.77 ERA in 196 games (31 starts); in indy ball, he was 1-7 with an 8.47 ERA in 34 games (6 starts).
