Biographical Information

Kenta Kozono had pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Kozono was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers and Yokohama BayStars in the first round of the 2021 NPB draft, and the BayStars won the lottery for the rights to him; the scout was Tateki Abe. He pitched 4 2/3 shutout innings in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2022, and he went 2-5 with a 4.21 ERA in 2023. Kozono debuted against the Chunichi Dragons on April 10, 2024, and he allowed 5 runs in 2 2/3 innings. That was his only appearance for the top team in the '24 season, and he went 3-3 with a 4.46 ERA in the minors.

Kozono's repertoire features a fastball that peaks at 94.4 mph, a cutter, curveball, changeup and a slider.
