Catcher Kelly Sinnett was named Baseball America's Junior College Player of the Year in 1990. He hit .399 with 22 home runs and his 97 RBI led the nation. In his freshman year, 1989, he hit .414 with 30 home runs and 124 RBI, most of any Junior College player in the nation. He had been selected as a draft-and-follow in the 11th round of the 1989 amateur draft by the Cleveland Indians and signed with the team following the 1990 college season. He batted .240 with 2 home runs and 21 RBI in 192 at-bats with the Watertown Indians in his professional debut that season.
Stinnett started the baseball program at Benedictine University at Mesa in 2017.
