Biographical Information

Keisuke Sawada has pitched in the Nippon Pro Baseball.

Sawada was 22-16 with a 2.24 ERA in college, and he represented Japan when they won the 2015 Universiade and in the 2016 Haarlem Baseball Week. He was drafted by the Orix Buffaloes in the 8th round of the 2016 NPB draft; the scout was Shintaro Yoshida. Sawada had a 4.15 ERA in 13 games in his first season, then he improved to a 2.54 ERA in 47 appearances with 8 holds in 2018. He notched 17 holds with a 4.85 ERA in 28 games in 2019, and he had a 3.43 ERA in 24 games in 2020 as he suffered from a right elbow injury and missed most of the season. Sawada's ERA was 3.86 in 14 games in 2021, then he underwent Tommy John surgery and missed the entire 2022 season.

The Buffaloes released him, and he signed with the Chiba Lotte Marines. Sawada had a solid 1.08 ERA in 17 relief outings in 2023, then he collected 8 holds with a 3.60 ERA in 21 games in 2024.

His repertoire consists of a fastball (peak time 96.3 mph), forkball, cutter and changeup.
