Biographical Information[edit]
Shintaro Yoshida was drafted by the Orix BlueWave in the 8th round of the 2003 NPB draft, and he never got more than 25 at-bats a season in his first seven seasons. He hit .205/.276/.282 in 32 games in 2011, then he went 5-for-33 in 2012 and he announced his retirement. Yoshida later scouted for Orix, signing Soichiro Yamazaki, Keisuke Sawada and Hitomi Honda. He was named the minor league fielding coach of Orix in 2019.
Overall, Yoshida hit .177/.234/.238 with 32 hits in 7 seasons in NPB.
