Biographical Information

Kazuo Takaira signed with the Osaka Tigers in 1959, and he only got 13 at-bats combined in his first three seasons. The Tigers then traded him with Yutaka Doi to the Daimai Orions for Katsuya Fukutsuka and Tameo Iio, and he played 31 games with a .220/.233/.390 batting line in 1962. He recorded a .205/.253/.307 batting line in 107 games as Daiei's starting shortstop in 1963, but he only got 3 at-bats in 1964 and he announced his retirement.
