Biographical Information

Katsuhiko Hara played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.

Hara signed with the Kintetsu Buffaloes in 1954, and he replaced Fukuzo Tada to become their starting catcher as a rookie. He hit .219/.265/.272 in 92 games, and he had a .225/.262/.308 batting line in 1955. Hara only played 57 games with a .194/.255/.194 batting line after Masatoshi Kato shined in 1956, and he hit .239.291/.256 in 1957. He slumped to .189/.264/.196 in 1958, and he announced his retirement after he went 1-for-6 in 1959.

Overall, Hara hit .216/.265/.262 with 215 hits and 6 homers in 6 seasons in NPB.
