The Kansas City Hormigas began play in the Pecos League for the 2025 season to replace the disbanded travel only Austin Weirdos. A large portion of their roster were on the Weirdos the year prior. Stadium revitilization plans fell through and by May 2025 and the team rebranded to the KC Iola Hormigas and would play most of their games at Allen County Community College. The Hormigas would play Sunday games in Kansas City while playing all other games in Iola, Kansas. The team is permanentlty moving and rebranding to the Iola Hormigas for 2026.
