Biographical Information[edit]

Jordan Pals pitched professionally from 2003 to 2008, peaking at Double-A.

He was taken by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 20th round of the 2003 amateur draft, one pick after pitcher Daniel Bard, and began his career that year. He had one season of particular note, 2004, when he went 10-4 with a 2.77 ERA in 23 starts between the Peoria Chiefs and Palm Beach Cardinals. He tied five pitchers for second in the Midwest League with 2 complete games, behind Chris Steinborn's 3. In 2003, he was one of just six Appalachian League pitchers to toss a complete game. In 2006, he led the Texas League in hits allowed, with 201. He remained in the Cardinals system through 2006, then played for the independent Bridgeport Bluefish in 2007 and 2008.

Overall, he went 29-31 with a 4.09 ERA in 97 games (96 starts). In 539 innings, he allowed 597 hits and 142 walks (1.371 WHIP), while striking out 320 batters. In the Cardinals system, he was 29-28 with a 3.91 ERA in 91 games (90 starts). With the Bluefish, he was 0-3 with a 8.84 ERA in 6 starts.
