Biographical Information[edit]

Corner infielder John Santor played in the St. Louis Cardinals system from 2000 to 2005 and in independent ball in 2006. He peaked at High A.

He was taken by the Cardinals in the 35th round of the 2000 amateur draft, one pick ahead of outfielder Jeff Salazar and in the same round as catcher Russell Martin. After a couple down years to start his career, he posted a .288/.375/.556 line with 13 home runs and 62 RBI in 69 games in 2002—spent mostly with the New Jersey Cardinals. Another solid year was 2004, when he hit 17 home runs with 74 RBI in 109 games between the Peoria Chiefs and Palm Beach Cardinals.

Overall, Santor hit .249/.324/.411 with 48 home runs and 272 RBI in 477 games.
