Biographical Information[edit]
Johan Domínguez played in the minor leagues and in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Domínguez signed with the Milwaukee Brewers on May 8, 2016, and he went 4-5 with a 2.78 ERA for the DSL Brewers in his first season. He was 2-1 with a 4.24 ERA in 2017, and he completed 19 1/3 shutout innings for the AZL Brewers in 2018. Domínguez also had a 1.54 ERA in 6 games in the DSL that year, and he pitched 2 games with a 4.50 ERA for the Helena Brewers. He was traded with Bryan Connell to the Chicago White Sox for Xavier Cedeño on August 31, and he pitched 2 games for the Great Falls Voyagers. Domínguez was 6-5 with a 2.98 ERA for the Kannapolis Intimidators in 2019, then the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the minor leagues.
The Santo Domingo native was 3-6 with a 4.80 ERA for the Winston-Salem Dash in 2021, and he went 2-2 with a 4.33 ERA for the Birmingham Barons. He reached AAA that season, but he allowed 12 runs in 6 innings for the Charlotte Knights. He struck out 118 in 107 innings that year, leading Pale Hose farmhands (5 ahead of Kade McClure. Domínguez suffered from injuries in 2022, so he only pitched 3 games combined in AA and AAA. He was 0-5 with a 2.45 ERA for the Dash in 2023, but he struggled in AAA as his ERA was 5.65 in 8 starts with a 0-3 record. Domínguez then went 7-5 with a 4.43 ERA for the Knights in 2024, and he signed with the Hiroshima Carp. He was 2-4 with a 3.08 ERA in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he went 1-1 with a 3.71 ERA for the top team.
