Biographical Information[edit]
Joey Gerber appeared in 17 games for the Seattle Mariners during the 2020 season, going 1-1, 4.02 and pitching 15 2/3 innings. He was then out of the majors until 2025, when he resurfaced with the Tampa Bay Rays in mid-September. From 2021 to 2023, he pitched a total of 1 game, and that was in the Arizona Complex League in 2022, as he dealt with a series of injuries.
He spent the 2024 season in the organization of the New York Yankees, making it back to AAA by the end of the season. He was with the Durham Bulls for most of 2025 prior to his call-up to Tampa. His numbers there were far from great, as he was 0-2, 6.23 in 34 games. 9 of these games were starts, but apparently always as part of bullpen games, as he only pitched 43 1/3 innings. His K/W ratio was actually pretty good in spite of the high ERA, at 54/15.
