Minor league outfielder Jimmy Arline was the Atlanta Braves sixth round draft pick in the 1973 amateur draft, taken one selection ahead of pitcher Darrell Jackson. He played in the minor leagues until 1981.
Though a low-average, low-OBP, low-power player, Arline possessed good speed, swiping 19 bases in 1974 (posting career highs with a .282 batting average and a .359 OBP), 16 bags in 1976 and 26 bases in 1977; he hit nine triples that last year, as well. He had a career high .396 slugging mark with the Triple-A Richmond Braves in 1978. He reached Triple-A again in 1979. After not playing in 1980, he returned as a pitcher in 1981 to wrap up his career.
Overall, Arline batted .252/.328/.326 with 71 stolen bases in 688 games over eight seasons. On the mound, he was 1-3 with a 5.14 ERA in 20 games.
