Biographical Information[edit]
Jim Rosenbohm pitched in the minor leagues from 1992 to 1996. He was taken by the San Francisco Giants in the 2nd round of the 1992 amateur draft (45th overall), one slot after pitcher Jon Lieber. He was taken ahead of future Hall of Famer Todd Helton and star Jason Giambi. He peaked at Single-A. He was signed by scout Mike Keenan.
Rosenbohm never had a winning season, and his only .500 campaign was his last one, went he went 1-1 for the Pittsfield Mets of the New York Mets system. His other records were 2-7, 6-8, 3-10 and 2-4, respectively. Overall, he went 14-30 with a 4.79 ERA in 106 games (60 starts). In 368 innings, he allowed 369 hits and 233 walks (1.636 WHIP), while striking out 311 batters. His first year, he led the Arizona League in losses (7, tied with Jose Matos and Marty Winchester) and games started (14, tied with Herb Baxter, Aaron Fultz and Stacy Hollins).
He died at 43 years old.
