Biographical Information

Jhorjan Guevara has played in the minors and in Italy, and for the Italian national team.

Guevara was signed by Philadelphia Phillies scouts Jesús Méndez, Rafael Alvarez and Ebert Velasquez in 2019. He made his pro debut with the 2021 DSL Phillies Red, hitting .224/.314/.284; he had 66 putouts, 4 assists and no errors between the three outfield slots. With the same team in 2022, he put up similar numbers: .215/.319/.266, 1.000 FLD%. His whereabouts in 2023 are unclear. Coming to Modena in Italy, he posted a .365/.419/.557 line with 25 RBI in 30 games in the 2024 Serie A1. He was 9th in slugging and tied for 7th with 12 steals.

Back with Modena in 2025, he batted .476/.534/.757 with 29 RBI in 27 contests, going 9-for-10 in steals and handling 74 chances error-free. He won the batting title (.013 ahead of Edoardo Cornelli), led in slugging (.081 ahead of Alex Sambucci), was second in OBP (.030 behind Jose Cuesta), led in OPS (81 ahead of Cuesta). He played for Italy in the 2025 U-23 European Championship, hitting .333/.400/.667. He was their starting center fielder in the 2025 European Championship. He drew a walk from Switzerland's Andrea Girasole his first time up. He had a 3-run, 3-RBI game against Lithuania (homering off Lukas Morkūnas) and also went deep off Greece's Dean Christidis. In the title game versus the Netherlands, he was 3-for-3 with two walks and a run in a 6-5 loss, Italy's top hitter, but uncharacteristically made a two-base error that set up the last Dutch run. For the tournament, he hit .458/.533/.833 with 7 runs and 6 RBI in 7 games but fielded .824 with 3 errors, as many as he had made in the outfield in 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025 seasons combined, when he had fielded .988. He was among the leaders in slugging (tied Márkó Morua for 6th), hits (11, tied for 7th with Noel González and Marc Willi) and errors (trailing only Assaf Lowengart and Zev Moore).
