Biographical Information[edit]

Jerome Peters was a first baseman who played in the minor leagues for the Portland Beavers of the Pacific Coast League and the Portland Colts of the Northwestern League in 1913. He attended Santa Clara University and later studied law at Stanford University, where school records credit him as the baseball coach in 1912 and 1913[1][2].

An article in the Oregon Daily Journal reported when Portland signed him in January 1913 that he had been drafted from the Trenton Tigers after the 1911 season (BR Minors Page), but did not report in 1912 because of his law studies at Stanford[2]. After his playing days, Peters settled in Chico in July 1913 and built a long legal career there, first associating with Guy R. Kennedy and later opening his own practice[3].
