Biographical Information[edit]

Javier Cardona played three years in the major leagues. He also played many years in the minor leagues. One highlight was in Double A ball in 1998, when he posted a batting line of .331/.387/.515 in the Southern League in 44 games before being moved up to Triple A. The next year, back in the Southern League, he hit .309/.384/.569.

After his time in the majors, he played in independent ball and for several organizations in the minors. In 2005, he was on four different minor league teams in the minor league organizations of three different major league teams.

The Boston Red Sox signed him to a minor league contract in March 2006 but he did not play organized baseball that season, apparently retiring at age 30.
