Biographical Information[edit]
Jason Turman played in the minor leagues and in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Turman was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 34th round of the 1994 Amateur Draft out of high school, but he didn't sign. The Montreal Expos then selected him in the 11th round of the 1995 Amateur Draft, and he missed his first season due to injuries. Turman was 5-7 with a 4.18 ERA for the Cape Fear Crocs in 1997, and he had a 8-5 record with a 4.62 ERA there in 1998. He also went 3-2 with a 3.31 ERA for the Jupiter Hammerheads that season, and he was traded to the Seattle Mariners for Bobby Ayala. Turman went 4-10 with a 5.20 ERA for the Lancaster JetHawks in 1999, and he was 3-4 with a 4.38 ERA for the New Haven Ravens in 2000. He reached AAA in 2001, and his ERA was 2.26 in 29 games with a 7-5 record for the Tacoma Rainiers. The Yokohama BayStars then signed him, but Turman's ERA was 6.16 in 9 games in 2002 and he was released. He signed with the Kansas City Royals, and he went 2-5 with a 3.87 ERA for the Omaha Royals in 2003 then he announced his retirement.
Overall, Turman was 32-38 with a 4.13 ERA and 10 saves, struck out 465 and pitched 582 1/1 innings in 6 seasons in the minor leagues.
