Biographical Information

Outfielder Jake Thompson began his career in 2022 after being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Miami Marlins. Prior to his signing, he had hit .350/.453/.610 with 14 home runs and 67 RBI in 64 games for Oklahoma State University.

In 2022, he hit .292/.397/.475 with 3 home runs, 16 RBI in 34 games for the Jupiter Hammerheads and in 2023, he hit .278/.385/.501 with 18 home runs and 53 RBI in 103 games for the Beloit Sky Carp and Pensacola Blue Wahoos. In 2023, he was a MiLB.com Organization All-Star. In 2024, he hit .277/.359/.393 with 2 home runs and 15 RBI in 46 games split between Pensacola and Beloit. In 2025, he hit .225/.343/.320 with 1 home run and 17 RBI in 54 games for Pensacola. On August 4 of that year, the Marlins released him.
