Biographical Information[edit]

Hisao Heiuchi played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 11 years.

Heiuchi was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the 4th round of the 1999 NPB draft, and he spent his first two seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. He was 3-for-26 in 2002, but he tore his ACL on April 26 and missed the next season. Heiuchi only got 25 at-bats combined in the next two seasons, and he hit .206/.270/.324 in 49 games in 2006. He played a career-high 88 games with a .187/.220/.284 batting line in 2007, then he recorded a .153/.180/.271 batting line in 2008. Heiuchi improved to .302/.368/.469 in 2009, then his batting line fell to .182/.217/.182 in 2010. He got a single against Takuya Asao in the 9th inning of the 2010 Nippon Series Game 7, and the Marines beat the Chunichi Dragons. Heiuchi was 8-for-45 in 2011, and he went 2-for-17 in 2012. He only played 39 games in 2013, and he announced his retirement after staying in the minors for a year.

Overall, Heiuchi hit .199/.246/.305 with 111 hits and 9 homers in 11 seasons in NPB.
