Biographical Information[edit]
Hiroshi Masuda played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.
Masuda signed with the Hankyu Braves in 1956, and he hit .192/.257/.231 in 108 games as the backup third baseman behind Michio Fujii in his first season. He then crushed 4 homers with a .238/.311/.355 batting line in 1957, but he then lost the competition with Takeo Hitomi in 1958. Masuda only played 57 games with a .259/.292/.333 batting line, and he had a .245/.294/.343 batting line in 1959. He hit .292/.324/.446 in 74 games in 1960, and the Braves released him. Masuda signed with the Yomiuri Giants, but he slumped to .161/.207/.195 in 1961 and announced his retirement.
Overall, Masuda hit .239/.291/.338 with 222 hits and 12 homers in 6 seasons in NPB.
