Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Henry Ramos has played in the Boston Red Sox minor league system since 2010 (through 2014).
He was taken by the club in the fifth round of the 2010 amateur draft, a couple picks ahead of pitcher Tommy Kahnle. The signing scout was Ray Fagnant and his bonus was $138,200.
After hitting .309/370/.449 with 3 home runs, 26 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 43 games for the GCL Red Sox in 2010, Ramos was named the 19th-best prospect in the Gulf Coast League following the season. He hit .281/.341/.400 that year overall, as he also played seven games for the Lowell Spinners.
He showed good speed in 2011 and 2012, stealing 15 and 12 bases, respectively, and added some pop in 2013, hitting 12 home runs and swiping 11 bags in 129 games for the Salem Red Sox. He began 2014 with the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs.
