Biographical Information[edit]
Harry Miller pitched one game for the Philadelphia Quakers of the National League on October 9, 1884. It did not go well even though he pitched a complete game, as in 9 innings he gave up 19 runs (10 earned) on 17 hits and 6 walks. He did pick up one strikeout.
Unfortunately, his name was long lost to history as that game was wrongly attributed to Joe "Cyclone" Miller, who pitched for two other teams that year, one in the NL and one in the fledgling Union Association. The error was discovered in 2026 by a researcher who looked at newspaper accounts of that game. His obituary also mentioned that he had once pitched in the National League.
