Biographical Information[edit]
Harry Chapman was a catcher for five big league seasons. The overwhelming majority of his action came in the Federal League, catching 126 games with the St. Louis Terriers in 1914 and 1915, but hitting just .204 (with his lone career home run) in the circuit's existence.
He died in Nevada, MO in 1918, two years after his final big league appearance with the St. Louis Browns, of pneumonia following influenza in a sanitarium where he had gone to recover from the effects of a blow to the head while playing. [1]
