In his debut for South Africa, he relieved ace Dylan Unsworth with a 7-0 lead in the bottom of the 9th in the opener against New Zealand. He allowed a hit to Moko Moanaroa and hit Daniel Bradley then Alan Schoenberger hit into a force out. Cahill then walked both Max Brown and Boss Moanaroa to force in a run. Jared Elario relieved him and got a game-ending double play. He also appeared in the finale against Australia, relieving Kieran Cree with a 10-5 deficit, the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 8th. He allowed a two-out single to Trent D'Antonio but got former major leaguer Brad Harman to end the inning.
