He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

McDaniels reached AA for two games in 2024, but was left off of the Dodgers' 40-man roster and was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 2024 Rule V Draft. He made his major league debut with the Angels on March 31, 2025, pitching one inning of scoreless relief against the St. Louis Cardinals. He pitched 10 games for the Angels, with no decisions and an ERA of 5.91, but missed over a month of action from early May to early June with tendinitis in his left triceps. On June 14th, he was returned to the Dodgers when the Angels wanted to send him to minors. He finished the season with the AAA Oklahoma City Comets, where he was 3-1, 3.30 in 25 games and 30 innings.
