Biographical Information[edit]
Frank Mankovitch played in the minor leagues and in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Mankovitch signed with the Baltimore Orioles in 1957, and he went 3-7 with a 3.96 ERA for the Kingsport Orioles in his first season. He was 12-9 with a 4.41 ERA for the Dublin Orioles in 1958, tied for 10th in the Georgia-Florida League in wins and 4th in K (137, between Eugene Burroughs and George Werley). He had a 1-2 record for the Aberdeen Pheasants in 1959. Mankovitch moved to the St. Louis Cardinals system in the middle of the '59 season, and he was 1-2 with a 3.48 ERA for the York White Roses. He then pitched 32 games with a 8-10 record and a 5.09 ERA for the Little Rock Travelers in 1960, and he was 1-2 with a 7.40 ERA for the Mobile Bears in 1961 while having a 5.27 ERA in 3 games for the Portsmouth-Norfolk Tides. The Daimai Orions signed him in 1962, but he had a 3.72 ERA in 12 appearances, and his professional career ended. He was known as Frank Manny in Japan.
