Team History[edit]
After the 2011 season, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees homefield, PNC Field, was renovated causing the team to play the entire 2012 season on the road. The team decided to split the season between six stadiums. With all but 12 of their "home" games now scheduled to be played in Upstate New York, the team became unofficially known as the Empire State Yankees. The team rebranded itself as the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders when it returned to the newly renovated PNC Field in 2013.
