Biographical Information[edit]
Eli Whiteside was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 6th round of the 2001 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Mike Tullier and made his pro debut that summer. He reached the major leagues with the Orioles in the middle of the 2005 season, playing 9 games. He then returned to the minor leagues and was not back in the Show until 2009, when he became a back-up catcher with the San Francisco Giants.
He retired as a player following the 2014 season and re-joined the Giants organization as a bullpen catcher.
Notable Achievements[edit]
- Won a World Series with the San Francisco Giants in 2010 (he did not play in the World Series)
