Biographical Information[edit]
Dick Kelley, pitching for the San Diego Padres in a road game against the Philadelphia Phillies on June 13, 1971, relieved Bob Miller in the 9th inning with two runners on base, nobody out, and the San Diego Padres leading, 9-8. Dick struck out the next three Phillies batters to preserve the Padres victory and record his first save of the season.
