Devin Saltiban has played in the minors.
The Philadelphia Phillies took him in the 3rd round of the 2023 amateur draft with the #98 overall pick. He was their second selection that year, following fellow high school shortstop Aidan Miller, and signed for a $602,500 bonus. The scout was Demerius Pittman. [1] He hit .333/.391/.452 with 10 runs in 10 games for the FCL Phillies that summer. In 2024, he produced at a .237/.346/.428 rate for the Clearwater Threshers; moving to second base, he fielded .956. He stole 22 bases in 24 tries and went deep 17 times, showing good power and speed. He was third in the Florida State League in dingers (behind Esmerlyn Valdez and Ariel Almonte), was 4th in slugging (between Brandon Winokur and Yerlin Confidan) and 3rd in OPS (behind Valdez and Arjun Nimmala). [2] He was named the FSL All-Star second baseman. [3] Among Phillies farmhands, he was 4th in runs (68, between Scott Kingery and Cal Stevenson), 3rd in home runs (after Kingery and Weston Wilson), 10th in RBI (55), 10th in steals and tied for 9th with 50 walks (even with Darick Hall and Keaton Anthony).
Playing mostly center field in 2025, he struggled at the plate with the Jersey Shore BlueClaws (.190/.269/.308 in 66 G) and spent time with Clearwater (3 for 5, HR) and the FCL Phillies (.054/.146/.162 in 10 G). He picked it back up in winter ball with the Adelaide Giants, batting .321/.370/.529 in the 2025-2026 Australian Baseball League with 14 doubles and 29 RBI in 36 contests. He tied George Callil for 9th in runs (22), led in doubles (two ahead of Eric Rataczak), tied for 7th in home runs (5), led in RBI (one ahead of Robbie Perkins), led in steals and was in the top 10 in average, slugging and OPS. He then starred when Adelaide beat the Sydney Blue Sox in the finals, with strong offense and defense. He was the finals MVP. [4]
