Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Daniel Dorn was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 32nd round of the 2006 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Mike Misuraca and made his pro debut that summer with the Billings Mustangs and led the Pioneer League with a .354 batting average. He began the 2007 season with the Sarasota Reds, where he hit .281 with 12 home runs, and finished the year with the Chattanooga Lookouts, where he hit .311 with 8 homers in 26 games.

Dorn made his major league debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 21, 2015, drawing a walk against Keone Kela of the Texas Rangers as a pinch-hitter for pitcher Chase Anderson in the 7th inning. By then, he was 30 years old and a veteran of 10 minor league seasons. His first big league RBI on May 9th was a memorable one, as he lined a double down the right field line as a pinch-hitter against Craig Kimbrel of the San Diego Padres, scoring Jordan Pacheco and Aaron Hill to tie the game and hand Kimbrel his first blown save since the previous June.
