Biographical Information[edit]
Dan Onodera has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Onodera was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the first round of the development phase in the 2019 NPB draft; the scout was Ryo Watanabe. He stayed in the NPB Farm leagues in his first season, and he went 12-for-67 in 2021. Onodera hit .315/.391/.449 in the minors, and he won the batting title of the Western League (.021 ahead of Tatsuru Yanagimachi). He also led in OBP (.013 ahead of Yanagimachi) and slugging (.031 ahead of Richard Sunagawa). He was 6-for-44 in 2022, and he had a solid .347/.402/.427 batting line in 43 games in 2023. However, Onodera slumped to .148/.179/.222 in 2024, and he played 19 games with a 7-for-29 record in 2025.
