The Pittsburgh Pirates & St. Louis Cardinals & New York Mets combined to field one Dominican Summer League team in 1989. The team finished third in the South at 29-25. The Pirates fielded a full DSL Pirates squad in 1990. The Cardinals and Mets would each send players to other co-op teams until the Mets fielded a full DSL Mets squad in 1992 and the Cardinals fielded a full DSL Cardinals team in 1996.
